Abstract:The appellation of "king" originated from the word Wangmu. Mighty men became Wangfu because of their sexual relationship with mother kings, and with the formation of families, they were called grandfathers. Wangmu and Wangfu became leaders of the clan for some reasons such as their position in the family hierarchy, their force and their abilities. Thus "king" got the meaning of the leader of a social organization. The calligraphy of "king" might rose from strings of jade patches which were dedicated to the sun . In ancient times, witches became spiritual leaders for their function in the primitive religious activities and gradually united with the worldly leaders as one, acquiring administrative power. With the development of the society, the role and status of king became more and more evident as the highest political leader, and witches became attachment and implement of the king.
