From the new situation of contemporary development of physical education in school, the author analyses some disadvantoges in the present track and field sports meeting. Combining the aim of physical education in the new era and college students' features of their knowledge and abilities, the author puts forward the new direction of development. More attention should be given to abilities, popularizotion and delight as well as newly-built pattern in stead of competition.
