In order to meet the needs of elementary educational reform, the comprehensive art course is taught. It is based on "major and minor system" of the three subjects of political, historical and geographical education and quality education. It is a change from a traditional single subject to modern comprehensive subjects. The students majoring in this subject can teach not only junior middle school comprehensive art courses but also politics, history and moral lessons. They are the new- type teachers who can meet the needs of development of economy, culture and society. Combining theory with practice, the author of this paper deals with the targets and types of cultivation comprehensive art education, and the principles, characteristics, methods and proceeds of comprehensive art educational curriculum systems.
