Zhige A-lu, the Yi's ancient hero was a mythical heroic character. He was the most respected ancestor generally acknowledged by all the Yi's people. Over the thousands of years of spreading, the Yi's people created him as a hero who was smart, good-natured and civilized; who was both intelligent and courageous;who was clear about what to love and what to hate;who was with superhuman strength and power to determine the victory. The Yi's hero Zhige -A -lu and the relevant literature have been widely spread in the vast Yi's areas in the Sorthwest of our country. Understanding the spreading of Zhige A-lu and the literature is the important basis of the research and development concerning Zhige A-lu culture.
