Abstract:ASU Yue''er''s full-length novel Mountain Heredity depicts the living situation of an ancient ethnic group in a Yi village in southwest China in the process of modernization, and constructs a new world intertwined with tradition and modernity. The novel carries out creative transformation of the Yi folk literary tradition and integrates poetic thinking into fiction creation. Structurally, driven by the impact of modernity,it transforms the folk literary tradition into a narrative resource for responding to the modern situation through three complete narrative arcs: impact, deformation, and rebirth. In terms of resources, centered on the epic tradition,it integrates mythic thinking, ritual and custom practices, and the animistic perception of all things into narration as structural elements of narration.Formally,it completes the creative reconstruction of form from three dimensions: language, imagery and style, presenting a unique poetic fiction mode.
