Abstract:Official new media in colleges and universities have become a crucial frontier for conducting online ideological and political education among college students in the digital era. While official campus new media demonstrate a positive development trend, they still face numerous challenges in empowering online ideological and political education, relating to mechanisms, content, platforms, and team-building, among other aspects. To address these issues, colleges and universities should implement the "four-pronged approach" - strengthening motivation, enhancing content prowess, cultivating cohesion, and injecting vitality. They should strengthen motivation by improving work systems and mechanisms to provide a solid institutional guarantee for online ideological and political education; they should enhance content prowess by adhering to the principle of "content is king" to boost the attractiveness and emotional resonance of content; they should cultivate cohesion by stimulating the synergistic effects of platform linkages to expand the reach and influence of online ideological and political education; they should inject vitality by building a high-quality workforce to provide robust talent support for online ideological and political education. Through this integrated approach, the high-quality development of online ideological and political education in colleges and universities can be promoted.
