Abstract:Intangible cultural heritage, passed down through historical changes, represents shared choices upheld by cultural communities across different historical periods and plays a significant role in the cultural inheritance system. Based on its historical, practical, and shared attributes, China''s intangible cultural heritage testifies to the historical trajectory of the Chinese nation''s pluralistic unity, the fraternally integrated life of all ethnic groups as one family, and the cultural tradition of advocating harmony and unity. By embodying the cultural resources of the Chinese national community, it deepens and reinforces all ethnic groups'' sense of cultural identity, sense of belonging, and recognition of shared historical memories through "tangible" means of enhancing commonality, "sensible" practices of promoting inter-ethnic interaction, and "effective" outcomes of pooling unity forces. This, in turn, forms closer cultural bonds at the emotional and spiritual levels, making intangible cultural heritage a viable, feasible, and actionable pathway to strengthen the sense of community for the Chinese nation.
