Over 60 years ago, Sichuan was highly regarded as the strategic rear area and the center of the "Third Line Construction". The "Third Line Construction" brought about profound changes in Sichuan''s economy, society, population, and urban-rural landscape, providing valuable experience and enlightenment for building a national strategic hinterland. More than 60 years later, Sichuan has once again attracted great attention from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China owing to its unique value as a national strategic hinterland. Sichuan must seize the strategic opportunity, learn from the successful experience of the "Third Line Construction" and upgrade its innovations.
