Abstract:The intervention of design in the development of traditional cultures of ethnic minorities is an effective approach to facilitating the revival of their traditional cultures and promoting regional economic development. Through re-design, the cultural characteristics of the traditional costume patterns of the Yi ethnic group in Liangshan and the humanistic and aesthetic values of related handicrafts are integrated to achieve the modern transformation of the traditional costume patterns of the Yi ethnic group in Liangshan and endow them with new consumption cultural connotations through design. This article, combining literature review, field research, and case study, systematically analyzes the historical origin, classification, characteristics, values, and current application status of the traditional costume patterns of the Yi ethnic group in Liangshan. Aiming at the existing problems and modern aesthetic demands, starting from the three levels of shape features, cultural connotations, and functional carriers, it explores innovative design methods that enable the traditional costume patterns of the Yi ethnic group in Liangshan to maintain their traditional characteristics while being more modern, expressive, and tensile.
