Abstract:Ophiocordyceps sinensis,a precious species with extremely high medicinal value,is grown in the alpine mountains of western China. Archaeological data prove that ancient Chinese began to eat Cordyceps as early as2,000 years ago, and the earliest documents recording Cordyceps appeared in the 4th century AD.This paper combs through Tibetan medical documents and Han People’s ancient documents to trace the spread and change of people''s knowledge of Ophiocordyceps sinensis.It focuses mainly on Qing Dynasty’s materia medica literature and literati notes, and traces ancient people''s knowledge development of Ophiocordyceps sinensis with the change of document texts based on authors’identities,experiences,and writing methods and contents.Meanwhile,through comparison of content focus and writing characteristics between various documents,the similarities and differences between doctors’and literati’s knowledge of Ophiocordyceps sinensis are revealed,and the spread of Ophiocordyceps sinensis knowlege in the Qing Dynasty is explored.
