Folk religion is the major foundation for Yi people’s traditional culture in South Yunnan regions,and it is a cultural system of folk belief activity conserved relatively complete and systematic.It is a traditional cultural system of ancient culture inherited and developed by Yi’s forefathers,as well as an important component of the “Bi-mo” culture.Its core belief is animism and immortality of the soul;it follows a soul belief and polytheism,with ancestor belief as the core and ghost and god belief as the complement,which have some positive influence and effect on traditional agricultural production, natural and ecological protection,and human social etiquette.
