Rural governance is an important aspect of social governance in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture.Currently，certain progress of rural governance in Liangshan Prefecture has been made regarding aspects of rural democratic politics，collective economic growth， and public service.However，the overall rural governance in Liangshan Prefecture is still a weak point in regional social governance，manifested as：current level of economic development falls short of supporting effective rural governance； modern transformation rate of traditional governance in Yi ethnic society is relatively low；geographical barriers hinder improvement of rural governance efficiency；roles and functions of some grassroots party organizations deviate in rural governance；evaluation and optimization mechanism for rural governance work is not sound. Rural governance in Liangshan Prefecture should be improved by adhering to the new development concept，strengthening the economic and funding foundations，exploring and transforming Yi people''s traditional governance rules and resources，exploring the diversified governance models，strengthening the information network support，enforcing the leadership and guidance of the Party and determining the role and function of grassroots party organizations，and creating and improving the evaluation and optimization mechanism for rural governance.
