English extensive reading courses, as basic compulsory courses for English majors,enable students to have many opportunities to understand the societies, histories and cultures of English-speaking countries. They play a particularly significant role in cultivating and building students'' ideological and political spirits, so it is important to study how English extensive reading courses and political and ideological education can be closely integrated in college education. Based on the concept of OBE, this paper takes English Extensive Reading I as an example and tries to testify the necessity and feasibility of the integration of curriculum-based ideological and political education into English extensive reading courses, in order to provide some references for innovative ideological and political education and the teaching of extensive courses for English majors in colleges and universities.
