Abstract:In the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the teaching of criminal law must help instill "four self-confidences" deep into students' heart and mind. Self-confidence in our socialist course represents as China's socialist rule of law being the sole correct course our criminal law should follow; self-confidence in Marxist theory represents as our criminal law legislation, judicial administration and academic study must be guided by Marxism; self-confidence in our political system represents as effectiveness is our criminal law's basic strength; self-confidence in our culture represents as superior traditional Chinese legal culture is embodied in our current criminal law, and serves as sources for cultural self-confidence. Teachers should constantly explore and make full use of these resources to influence students imperceptibly in various forms whenever they give classroom lectures, explain law clauses, interpret legislative goals, review criminal law history, and discuss law cases, so as to implement a thorough policy of "ideological and political education in all courses".
