Abstract:Since the 18th Party Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping has put forward a series of new ideas and strategies on poverty alleviation, and the country has made historic achievements in the fight against poverty. In a critical period for building a better-off society in all aspects, ethnic minorities' poverty alleviation in poverty-stricken regions remains a weak point. To rid of poverty as scheduled, we need to find a sustainable approach to poverty alleviation according to local conditions. Taking the relocation model of poverty alleviation in Liangshan region as an example, and by analyzing the prominent problems in the relocation process and the constraints for relocated people's subsequent development, we explore the approaches to the sustainable poverty alleviation in poverty-stricken ethnic minority regions from aspects of government sector coordination, precision identification, industrial support, grass-roots party organizations' role, and building up distressed people's inner strength, with an eye to the success of building a wellto-do society simultaneously and comprehensively
