Against the background of globalization and initiation of world literature, this paper makes a comparative study of Chinese misty poetry, regarding its peculiarity in history of Chinese poetry, and English Post-Modernism poetry, particularly American poetry, which coincides with the development of Chinese misty poetry. The purpose is to explore the roles the eastern and western cultures are playing in poetry production, especially the roles of politics, economy and other factors and their influences on eastern and western literature. World literature is to study the spiritual wealths of human race on a higher platform. The comparative treatment of eastern and western literatures serves as a cross-cultural experiment too.
