Prepositions are an inevitable part for Chinese students to learn English. Both traditional grammar and Cognitive Grammar have offered their respective interpretations of prepositions. This paper adopts the image schema theory in cognitive linguistics to explain the preposition From. Through analysis of its image schema, we can understand its basic meaning and extended meaning, and further reveal a new approach to the study of prepositions.
