The oral accounts of ethnic minority Yi's history have important historical and cultural values, but these precious accounts and their carriers are rapidly dying and vanishing, and urgently need to be preserved in digital forms. This paper first expounds the significance of creating a resource system for databases of oral accounts of ethnic Yi minority’s history, then studies the principles and methods for the creation, and finally develops the resource catalogue system and metadata information table of the oral history database. The libraries, archives, cultural centers and other institutions in ethnic Yi regions can launch the collection and database construction work for oral accounts of Yi people' history in terms of this framework and goal, so as to share efforts and resources.
