In the translation of subtitles in animated movies, translators inevitably“rewrite”and“translate”certain contents to achieve the educational significance of the language and the correct guiding role for children. Based on Lefevere's rewriting theory, this article studies the subtitles of Zootopia by comparing the translated versions of the mainland and the Taiwanese in order to analyze the translation purposes and translation strategies behind the subtitles.
